Best way to clean granite countertops?

What’s the most effective and least abrasive way to clean granite countertops and keep them looking good? I know marble stains, is granite similar? Is it harder to clean than formica?

    granite is actually very simple to maintain, and very forgiving, much more so than marble or formica. I always clean mine with 1 part water 2 parts white vinegar cleaner (homemade and non-toxic) and rags and it looks fabulous!

    Steel wool with alcohol as a cleaner (non toxic). Linseed oil could seal against stains from wine etc. Apply every 6 months.
