Can I install stone tile over plastic tile without glue?

My building has very strict rules about remodeling, but I know they will except a new floor job if it’s well done. The current flooring is this dull black tile that never gets shiny. Please Help!

      The tile would need to come out. You could install a floating laminate or engineered wood floor over it.

      is the tile you have down now stuck good? if so you can install ceramic tile over it. you’d have to use a multi purpose thin set (polymer fortified), such as, versabond (custom) or flex blend (c-cure).but, a cement board or better yet, hardibacker sub floor would be the optimum surface on which to set stone or ceramic tile.

      You would have to install a sub floor of plywood or a cement board. Then you can install a stone tile.

      No, you cannot install tile over tile. Doesn’t work.

      You cannot install stone tile without the proper thin set or a proper sub floor.

      you should contact a tile contractor locally to come out and look at your project to see what you need to do.
