Granite countertops causing little holes in shirts?

I’m so frustrated. I have discovered little holes near the waist of a shirt, this is about the 8th one since we moved into our new house. The only thing I can think of is maybe they’re snagging on our granite countertops. I stand at the sink a lot and the holes are right where the countertop would be. Anyone ever hear of this?

The granite isn’t completely smooth in front of the sink. Is there a product that seals the little holes?

    My husband owes his own construction business and he said that they have a polish that will cover the holes. He said try Home Depot or your closest hardware store.

    Sounds like you figured out what is eating your shirts. I would try to find out who supplied the counter tops and contact them about smoothing the edges. Even if you have to pay someone to come polish the edge it may be worth it in the end.

    It’s not the counter top.

    If you’re bleaching your shirts you’re weakening the fabric. If you wear belts you’re weakening the fabric. If you buy cheap shirts they’re just wearing out.

    I’ve ruined many knit tops with holes in the front. They are caused by a tiny chip on the edge of the quartz countertop. It happens when something firm is behind the material like a button or zipper. My countertop was just fixed by the company & already I’ve ruined 2 more shirts. The chips can hardly be seen but can be felt by the edge of a fingernail. Immediate solution is clear packing tape! So irritating! I did locate the problem by putting t-shirt material around a mug and running that firmly along the edge of the counter. My car seatbelt, the other possibility for the holes, has been vindicated!
