  I just painted my concrete porch and painted a faux area rug on it. After I was done I painted to coats of matte concrete sealer with non skid in it to prevent any paint chipping. I used a latex base paint made for concrete for the main porch floor, for the "rug" I used leftover house and trim paint (my house is federal blue, trim is burgundy) I did it this way so the colors would coordinate. There are many methods and design styles for concrete patterns. Whichever method you choose @ paints or concrete stain, be sure you put at least 2 coats of sealer over it.

  I haven’t but have watched shows where they have. It needs to be prepared correctly. There is concrete paint out there. You might check out hgtv.com for more information. Roxanne

  You can paint a base coat, anything above a flat finish. Then use a latex glaze mixed with paints or tubes of tint, mix apply & use saran wrap to remove some of the glazing to desired look. Even cotton cloths dampened will create effects, brushes, sponge, and other tools will work. Once you’re done, apply a few coats of waterborne floor coating to protect it.

  I’ve never painted a concert floor, but I have done concrete.

  I found stone stencils with $2.00.

  I used concrete STAIN and used 3 colors. Looks really good, but it still is faux. Mine was my front proch, exposed to all the Midwest elements, and 5 years later it still looks good. No sealer, just concrete stain.
