How can I clean travertine floors?

I want a vacuum for cleaning stone floors, but I doubt a normal vacuum will work well.
What should I use?

Note: If you can suggest a "vacuum" like cleaner (not a mop), I would definitely prefer a Japanese brand for reliability.

      Almost any vacuum cleaner will work providing you are not allowing the beater bar to come in contact with the travertine. Some have a specific setting for bare floors. Getting the grit off and doing it frequently is one of the keys to keeping your travertine looking its best. Damp mop (did I say damp?). Too many people think they are watering their lawn when the mop. Not good. Only use a stone cleaner rated for natural stone. Typically 1 oz per gal warm water. No home made stuff!
