I need to find a quality product to remove efflorescence from the walls in my basement.?

Efflorescence is those crystalline deposits on surfaces like brick, stucco, concrete and stone floors. I heard efflorescence is very dangerous and I need to remove it from the concrete walls in my basement. Does anyone know the best product to remove efflorescence?

      Efflorescence by itself is not dangerous, it is actually lime/calcium bring to surface by water movement.
      However in a longer term it is bad for the structure.
      I would not support the idea of using acid to removed them, any penetration will cause corrosion the reinforcements.
      If you find them unsightly, just scrap them off.
      A better solution is to stop water penetration.

      This is what one site says about efflorescence: Not toxic, not a hazard. Just unsightly.

      Wiki says: Efflorescence can often be removed using phosphoric acid. After application the acid dilution is neutralized with mild diluted detergent, and then well rinsed with water. However, if the source of the water penetration is not addressed efflorescence may reappear.

      After removal and neutralizing, you would have to seal the concrete surface to prevent water penetration.

      Instead of trying to do it yourself, you should think about consulting a professional — you may not even know what the actual problem at hand is until you get a pro in there.
