I need to remove around 5cm of the real stone floor in my kitchen so a new washer/dryer will fit?

Hi

My washer/dryer recently packed up and we need a new one. The problem is the previous owners of our house have cut the stone flooring in the kitchen to exactly fit the old washing machine which is only 51.5cm deep. The old machine then lies on top of the concrete floor under the stone floor.

When looking for new machines, the depth seems to be around 55cm-60cm.

How do we go about removing a small section of the stone floor? What tools would we need to do it and how would we ensure that we didn’t break any part of the remaining floor?

Thanks
