and floor vents on the second?? Probably go with a heat pump (mountains of NC) – would the ceiling vents help with the ac but NOT the heat? (ie. hot air rises – would help in summer with air coming from above but winter?) – - what is the best for saving elec. They will have a gas stove in living room – looking at TWO heat pumps (1 upstairs, 1 downstairs) so as to only use one when they are just alone – no children yet- house is running about 2, 400 sq. feet – spending is hopefully to stay around 220,000 – please give best advise on heating arrangements for future savings……ps – wood flooring/stone/siding.
