Normal discoloration on new granite countertop?

Hi, all. We recently remodeled our kitchen and bathroom and put granite on the countertops. I noticed a fairly large darker shade circular area on the new granite. I know that granite is a natural stone and no two slabs would look the same so I understand the shade difference between the slabs but circular darker area on one slab? I’m wondering if the workers spilled something or if they bought defective material to install in my kitchen. I don’t want to bring it up unless I know for sure. Could someone please tell me if it is normal for one slab to have different colored (darker) circular area? Thanks.

      If it is a perfect circle then something is wrong. I would notify the installer right away and have them deal with the problem. I hope you haven’t paid them yet.

      a slight discoloration is there but probably the workers may have spilt something on it rub coconut oil with a soft cloth for a few days and wash with a mild warm soap water the soap should be also mild.

      I have sold natural stone for almost ten years. A perfectly round marking on your countertop is possible in natural stone. If you use coconut oil on an already existing stain (If it is) that will only make it worse. There is a paste you can buy in the industry that you apply like a poultice and it can pull the stain out of the stone (if it is a stain!).
      Natural stone is porous so there are elements that can at times penetrate the surface.
