Quartzite Countertops – Good or Bad Idea?

We were planning on remodeling our kitchen with granite countertops, but the countertop design that I fell in love with is quartzite. Anyone have any experience with this type of countertop stone or know anything about it in this type of application? I know the basic definition, but I don’t know how it compares to granite.

    UNBELIEVABLE product. This is the new thing with countertops, and it is similar to granite only better. Same applications as granite installation wise, the only difference is there really isn’t any maitenance. This material doesn’t stain and is denser than any other product on the market today. The only problem is it is very costly so if that doesn’t bother you I suggest you use it instead of granite.
