  Dyson DC26 City – it’s the smallest, most powerful vacuum I’ve seen. Designed for city dwellers in small apartments but brings the punch of a full sized canister. Plus, Dyson vacuums are designed with pet hair in mind which you mentioned needing.

  You could probably get away with a DC35 if you were looking to spend less money. Either way, Dyson owners keep their vacuums much longer than your typical big box store vacuum, so you are actually saving money on your investment by not having to purchase a new vacuum every year.

  Like the other person said, dirt devil they make really good vacums
  most are light weight and easy to maneuver!

  that one i believed my cousin had and it was pretty great, it does hold alot
  then again i doubt your apt. is really dirty at all but it’ll get the job done
  its pretty gentle on tile

  Eureka and Dirt Devil are very low quality vacuums that do not perform or filter well and generally have poor consumer ratings. If you decide to go with one of these vacuums, make sure to read the consumer feedback on them before you purchase.

  The Shark Navigator, Lift-Away, and UV400 are all lightweight, and well rated vacuums that are reasonably priced.
